How To Become A Computer TutorBerkeley Joel is a computer tutor who is in the process of being certified as a Business Consultant. He has a particular interest in outsourcing and is considering opening his own IT consulting business. 'I thought it would be good to have more hands-on experience before making the leap into full-time IT work,' he says. He loves what he does, and as long as he has the right training in the right area, he is sure to find the right career.Joel has been around the corner of college for the past five years. He graduated from Smith College and is now at UC Berkeley. He majored in Physics and Computer Science and was majoring in Math and Business, and doing minor in Finance. He did some work in accounting but was unsure if it was what he wanted to do with his life. He felt like he had a knack for the technical aspects of accounting and wanted to pursue the subject further.The most important part of working with computers is knowing how to program, and Joel bec ame interested in that immediately. It was not easy, and he had to study extensively for the exams he needed to take for the certification exams. The reason he wanted to become a computer tutor was because he wanted to develop and implement computer programs.He was especially interested in the computer technology industry, and he knew he had to get into it. He saw himself starting a computer consultancy business.He took his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, followed by his Master's degree in Economics and Law. He then studied Computer Science at Berkeley and got his MBA in Management, which he credits with the extra direction he needed.His goal for his future is to work for IBM, Citigroup, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, HP, Dell, or any of the top tech companies. In fact, he is now working as a consultant for an international company in Asia. He also has several other outside projects in mind.At the moment, Berkeley Joel is self-employed in the IT field. He is responsible for client develo pment, systems development, hardware procurement, and general IT support. He is looking for a new job that can accommodate his flexible schedule. 'I need a full-time position for myself because I need to have something to do in the evenings and weekends,' he says.
